Ok, so all you so called mature and modern kids of the modern era, beware!!! For now the bill that would heal up the bleeding wounds of thousands of parents dumped by their children has been passed. In my opinion this bill should have been passed long back , but anyways its better late than never. I must have seen n number of bollywood flicks in the past based on this children-parents issue. When I was a kid , I used to feel really sorry and bad about those old people shown in the movies ill treated by their children. Then my Mom used to tell me that it’s just a movie and those characters are just portrayed in the movies and now I realise that those fictitious characters told a ton about this ugly truth. A truth that has shattered the old age dreams of millions of people of this nation. Some people say that their parents act weird in the old age. What the F**k!!!!! Were we born sensible ???? Didn’t we act stupid at times when we were school going kids ???? But the irony is that parents find these habits in their children naughty and sweet and children find them irky, “nauseating” and feel like running away.I am sure you all must have seen TV channels flooded with pension plans and other packages for the old. I am particularly fond of the one in which an old man about 60 tells his wife to do the household herself as he is getting retired and they cant affort the luxuries of hiring housemaids, and when the wife insists to ask money from their son , he says no.Ever wondered what the ad makers are trying to project to sell their product. These ads speak volumes about the unsaid , painstaking stories of many people.
This new bill will definitely lit a flame of hope for many septagenarians. Dare you ask your parents to leave the house or ill treat them, you would be put behind the bars and moreover you can’t appeal against it in the court. I welcome this with an open heart. But still I believe parents are such wonderful human beings that they wouldn’t use this law made their own self well being. They would never want to see their kids in Jail no matter how badly their soul gets hurt by the humiliating words of their children. The other factor would be the illiteracy percentage in this country. While I can sit and blog about this law here, there would many who wouldn’t even know about it . The solution could be to make people aware about this law like spreading awareness against AIDS.
Money is not what these old sweethearts want from you guys, it’s just a few loving and caring moments which would be much more valuable for them than millions of $.
There are many children , who don’t get see enough of their parents as they pass away when they are quite small . And if god is merciful upon you enough to bestow their blessings always for you ,today then you are freakin’ lucky.
At last, it would be delightful to see all those families getting reunited like the ones that used to in the climax of those movies that I used to see sitting in my mother’s lap.Remember K3G , well this bill would shy off even Mr. Karan Johar!!!
Good night.

The Sexy December - I ' m Lovin it
No its not anything raunchy or hot . It's a little scribble on my fav month - December
Well this is the one of my most favourite months of the year. I don't know why but I just love this month. The chilling winters, the soft and warm 10 o'clock sunlight, the short days and long nights - all are simply mesmerising. You can just eat loads and loads and the body readily takes it unlike those scorching summers when even a bit more can aggravate vomiting. Since childhood , December is a month for me that reminds me of gajar ka halwa, all kinds of stuffed parathas, mutter-paneer and various other mouth watering delicacies.
You become a little lazy ( anyways I always am) , yet you like it. The cuddling up in the warm quilts , soft pillows , coffee and roasted peanuts and watching television - oh my god !!!its heavens .
Also , this is the month when the holidays just pour in. For me a 10 day break in December is much more valuable (no comparison I should say) than a month break in summers. You can just pack your bags and go wherever you feel like .No bothering of sun , temperatures , rains . You can just go to a beach for sun bathing (free tanning for gals) and lie down for hours and hours there , completely cut from the rest of the world.
All this while, when am writing about this sexy , morning dew fresh month and things you can do , I am imagining myself getting actually indulged in . A dream which now a days I see before going off to sleep with open eyes ( I am an expert in it now). I know god is kind and he will listen to me and give me all the things mentioned above . After a long tiring day , I am not ashamed to say that I deserve it pals .
Time to sleep .....oooooaaaaahhhhhhmmmmm ......No its not a Tarzan cry , its my yawn !!!!

Distance between Life and Death is so small ...literally
This happened a couple of days back.
After a normal , monotonous and tiring day at office , I was on my way back home . Normally , the traffic at around 11 in the night is quite less but on this day , it was a little unusual. There were more cars, bikes and cabs than on any given day at this time trying to speed up to their destinations with no traffic policeman monitoring the traffic at the signals.
The moment I crossed the first traffic signal , I saw the roads getting cluttered with cars and two-wheelers and in no time everything came to a stand still. Some of them were following the sides to find a way to move ahead. It was getting cold and I wasn’t enjoying my ride on this cold day after a tiring day at office. So ,I followed the vehicles moving towards the sides. I was trying to see the road ahead , when I saw a Jeep parked, or rather abandoned, lying skewed on the road. I also saw some people standing in a gathering. It didn’t take me long to figure out that it was an accident . Normally, at least a dozen times in a month I find bikes banging into cars , skidding or auto rickshaws brushing the sides of the cabs . Eventually , things regain the normal course , like the great Raj kapoor said , “ The Show must go On!” . So I thought this would also be another “routine” accident . With all these thoughts hovering in my mind , I was trying to cross the site when I saw a policeman squatted on the road making a few markings with a piece of chalk and scribbling something in his notepad. I was anxiously watching the movements of his hands trying to figure out what he was trying to draw and then Goshhhh !!! , I saw this man , about 35 years old lying in a pool of blood, next to the policeman. This was freaking scary.A fresh accident which happened just a few minutes ago was what I witnessed. The skull was crushed badly as if someone had hit his head hard with the full force in this universe , on the road. The mouth laid wide open eyes gaping towards the sky and his brain had popped out and was lying on the road . You rarely get to see these unwanted, unfortunate and bloody incidents but when you see them , you are forced to realise the fact that death sometimes is so ugly and life is so bloody fragile!!! . For a few seconds, I went completely numb , forgot that I was riding on my way back home . Finally, the honking behind me brought me back to where I was and I somehow gathered my senses and moved ahead. Though all this while , I was frequently turning back to see that man.
Thoughts of all kinds were there in my mind. Was he a techie like me ?? What about his family ?? They must be waiting for his return. Though I was OK by the time I reached home , but while I laid on bed to sleep , the whole incident again came into my mind. You know what. All this made me realise that this gift of life doesn’t come with a warranty . Live life to the fullest. Live every moment of life like there is no tomorrow. Listen to your heart and do what you love to do.
The next day when I was returning from the office , I was passing through the same place where the accident had happened the day before. My eyes were constantly on the road to see that spot where that man lied dead. I could see a piece of cloth kept on the road with few scattered pebbles around it. It seemed to me the cloth was kept to cover something. Probably , it was the brain of the man who had died, lying on the road waiting for the municipality sweepers to come and sweep it of , to make the road clean again for the commuters.
That’s life !!!

Time for a change
Well not too long ago , my eating habits were completely messed up. There was no scheduling for any meals. Moreover I used to gorge over anything that was edible by the humans . This kind of haphazard routine started affecting my other activities as well . It started affecting my work and sleep as well. Though I must say , I wasn't like this since beginning. But 8 years of staying away from the family took its toll over me. Home cooked food made by Mom became like a dream for me. As they say , what you eat is what reflects in your body.Pot belly which is an unwanted by product of this kind of a life style is something that's really frustrating. You only realize this in the trial room of your Levi's store!!!
It was high time . I decided to change.Due to the change in work timings and working late till night , I am hardly able to see the early mornings the next day. Previously , I used to skip breakfast because of this. But now , I make it a point to eat something soon after an hour I wake up.Sometimes its 11.30 in the morning while I have me breakfast , but still I take it. Previously, the lunch used to be heavy and full of oily stuff .Now I rather prefer for something light and in optimal quantity so that you don't get that drowsiness feeling. snacks at around 6 pm comprising of fruits and juices as well at times has also found its way in my daily routine. Also did I cut down on the number of tea breaks in the office . Trust me the machine tea/coffee made up of skimmed powdered milk is not good for stomach.
since its quite late by the time I reach home, I see to it that I take my dinner asap which is again not to heavy. Then I probably read something or surf on the net as one must not sleep immediately after meals. No compromise on sleep .No matter what time I sleep , 8 hours is a must.Though its not a long time that I have started following this routine, the results are more than satisfactory. I also feel that there is an increase in the energy levels in the body. It has also helped me to reduce a little weight as well. I am sure with each passing day, things will improve and I shall be able to get back the body and fitness which I had when I was in school :-)
The reason why I wrote all this is because there would be many who might just correlate their routine with mine(previous) and are willing to opt for a change now. Remember guys nothing is impossible. Its all about making a choice

Trip to space for $20K
Move aside bungee jumping and Rock climbing. Get set go! space tourism is here for you.But is earth not enough for the tourists and adventurers that this whole new concept of a 4 min joy ride has evolved . Well this would surely be the latest "cool" thing for the bigwigs and a dream for the "still to reach there" types. What's more interesting is that there would be dedicated centres all around the world for the booking of tickets as well , just like the regular holiday package booking centres. Is it worth it ? well only those who would have experienced this unique and one of its kind voyage can tell that. That is simply awesome. We all must have used the Google earth software at some point in time or the other at least once and I am sure all of us must have been looking for our houses , the roads on which we travel and spots in our city.Imagine when the whole virtual , buffered and coded earth would translate into the big real Earth , watched by your gleaming eyes ,stunned and stoned !!!(though you wouldn't be able to see your house , unfortunately , our eyes cannot magnify objects in a 2X,4X,8X fashion). Imagine watching the big geographical structures like the great wall of china , the rivers, the forests, etc. and trying to identify them. What's more fascinating and exciting! Out of sight at escape veolcity and experience the zero gravity feel. All I can say is WOW
When Dennis Titto became the first "leisure traveller" in space many thought that the guy had too many bucks to spend or he must have had an unfulfilled dream to become an astronaut in NASA.Not many would have thought that this feat of his would give rise to a whole new revolutionary era of space tourism. Now that we would have the booking centres in India, I am quite eager to know who these bunch of guys would be to give it a shot. Not surprisingly, there would be many sensible guesses - the likes of ambanis, tatas and birlas. Not to forget the cricketers too.
If man ever successfully concludes his experimentation on Mars to prove that its possible to for humans to sustain and life can exist symbiotically, happily and peacefully, then this whole idea of space tourism would definitely be a stepping stone towards that long awaited journey to travel to Mars and shift to his new apartment !!This may sound like exaggeration or a far fetched conclusion but this is definitely going to be something on which the "cosmic" brains of the world would be looking at. It wouldn't be a surprise if after 20 years from now a trip to space would be something well acquainted with people and would cost lower that what it is today.Every desirable and better than the rest thing in this world is getting commercialized and cheaper. Take the example of air travel. Then at that point in time if existence of life on Mars is proved possible and rational, space trip would definitely be extended to the next destination - Mars .
Having said all this , I would like to admit here that even I want to travel in space .Now that I know its very much possible and up for a grab , the craving is more. The only setback is the M factor. I desperately need sponsors.Doesn't matter if its for 4 minutes only, those would be the 4 most thrilling , exciting ,adventurous and one of the most unforgettable moments of life.
God, are you listening????

Once Upon a Time in Gujarat(Indian Desperado-2)
Well this is not about a bollywood remake of a Hollywood flick but a show that's more dramatic than it could be.The first part of this series was released in 2002 and now we have the sequel coming up.And who plays the desperado ,well none other than our Mr. modi dancing to the tunes of "parde mein rehne do".Gujarat is in the news again for the so called "wrong reasons" and entire world around me seems to go gaga over this entire episode . I don't understand why.Why are people trying plough the barren fields once again when we all know that it wouldn't matter finally!!!
Who is the winner and who is the loser? The contestants are- Mr. Modi , the "unconventional" gujarat janta still awaiting justice(well Indians are know for their patience),the go getter Media or the opposition of the ruling party in the state. The Quake has rocked again though its intensity could not be measured on a Richter scale but a "victor scale" . Well, this scale was actually devised by Mr. Modi and is now used all over Gujarat. It's based on the theory of resilience. If am allowed to explain it a bit further then it something like this.
It's somewhat like a life cycle - you can say life cycle of gujarat politics(yeah I know the only Life cycle that we software junta know these days is the SDLC). Mr. Modi would give a blink of an eye no matter how hard the media and opposition (I don't mean they are correlated) would try to dig the old graves buried in 2002.If a little is to be believed on the hearsay and the past statistics , Mr. Modi is all set to have the final laugh.According to his supporters , these "trivial" issues would only help him to buttress his position in the state in the forthcoming elections.
The next are the people of Gujarat who would re-elect Mr. Modi and prove that they are really "unconventional".Actually in my opinion , they think of Mr. Modi as a combo package of Brahma ,vishnu and Shiva - the creator, the provisioner and the destroyer all in one.No matter how painful the wounds of 2002 are for them , they would bear it all .
The Media doesn't care if a couple of channels are blackened for 2 weeks after airing the sting clippings. The sky soaring TRPs for the next 2 weeks are more than what they could have asked for.Mr. Tarun tejpal , a seasoned campaigner knows his way ,so it doesn't matter as long as the cow is getting milked and making a tehelka.
The opposition in Gujarat wouldn't give up with the " fight until last breath" attitude. They would again get hold of a rat in the government and find another hole in the wall. But does it really matter when Mr. Modi's masons would fill the hole again. For them it doesn't . They would still try again.
Resilience , Resilience and Resilience .The prey becomes the predator and the predator becomes the prey. But who would be affected by all this at the end of the day.No One.I can't see through the woods but the sky looks clear and this is just a passing cloud. It would thunder a lot but wouldn't pour.Rest be assured.
no offences meant none taken

Hats off to CNN-IBN
Amidst a whole bunch of television news channels , there is one called CNN-IBN.But this is one is not just another brick in the wall. This channel is quite different from others .It doesnt show you the stabbing of a man by his cousin or other potboilers. On the contrary it shows you what you would have least expected out of a news channel these days.It shows you the face of modern India. The real stories of ordinary men doing extra ordinary stuff , helping the society and the mankind. For instance there was a story aired recently of a man from north east india who won a large sum of money is a contest and invested it to run a non profitable school for the poor and underprivleged children .Something that really inspires you to the core.
Then there is a segment called as citizen journalist in which a common man gets a chance to raise his voice. There is an environmental jounalist as well who covers travelling all the way to the siachen glacier .Whew !this takes a lot of guts man!The whole look of the channel is quite different from the others. The recent All India summit comprising of fraternities from both the political and entertainment worlds and the renowned journalists and TV hosts in India was really a treat for the eyes or rather more for the ears(with Mr. Modi's Gujrat growth from 2000 to 2007 minus 2002(riots) Bhashan) and Mr. Rajdeep Sardesai rubbing salt on Mr. Modi's wounds .
The channel looks promising .At last we have some quality stuff being aired . Well , what say shahrukh - "Thoda aur wish karo!!!"

why am I here ????
well, thats not difficult for me to answer . In today's world where we hardly get time to meet friends and relatives , I believe we have reached a point ( not sure how many of you would agree) where we start wondering and asking ourselves - is that all ?? There is so much happening around us round the clock and knowingly or unknowingly we tend to form our own opinions , thoughts and the so called " voice ". Sadly in the run for making money we dont have time to form groups , platforms where we can express ourselves .Though this is not the first time I am blogging and the bug had bitten me about three or four months ago when I started blogging on my employer's blog site , every time I see a fresh page , I feel its all new , all over again.
I don't wanna be a politician, writer , poet or for that matter of fact a philosopher . All I can say is , the mind rules the body. It rules you hand and your fingers to punch the keys on the keyboard. It's crazy and weird at times(in fact most of the times in my case ) :-) . But at the end of the day , the mind is responsible for all your actions and thoughts .
I hope to make a lot of friends here. All comments/feedbacks/groans are most welcome .
All right then , here's me signing off
Happy Blogging :-)

A poem to start with
The pendulum swings besides me ,
to unfold a mystery again ,
there you find a moment of joy
and a moment of sadness and pain
It doesnt matter who am I or who you are ,
The game is on and its getting bizarre.
The Past and the present go hand in hand ,
The future is untold in a No man's Land,
Stop to peep outside the window ,
and worry a lot about what you have not got ,
for this life isn't too short .
Cherish what you have and try to get a little more ,
There is a lots there - family, friends and things that make you happy,
O mate don't swim too far ,
that you can't turn around and see the shore .....
to unfold a mystery again ,
there you find a moment of joy
and a moment of sadness and pain
It doesnt matter who am I or who you are ,
The game is on and its getting bizarre.
The Past and the present go hand in hand ,
The future is untold in a No man's Land,
Stop to peep outside the window ,
and worry a lot about what you have not got ,
for this life isn't too short .
Cherish what you have and try to get a little more ,
There is a lots there - family, friends and things that make you happy,
O mate don't swim too far ,
that you can't turn around and see the shore .....
